Originality is centerstage at the new CANVAS Hotel Dallas where 76 loft-style rooms brim with art, quirky details and bold splashes of color. Brick walls, pressed concrete flooring and 12-foot high ceilings add to the urban industrial vibe. Reimagined by Studio 11 Design, the former Nylo Dallas South Side occupies a 100-year old brick building. Industrial elements blend seamlessly with custom area rugs and richly textured seating. Guest rooms and public areas are outfitted in an eclectic mix of retro furnishings, hand-selected fixtures, custom design details, and a rotating collection of work from up-and-coming local artists, curated by SEMOSMAUDLIN, a full-service art consultancy. For guests, the pièce de résistance may be the infinity rooftop pool and Gallery Lounge. The project was handled by Bray Whaler’s Dallas team under the direction of Matthews Southwest, and is one of 130 boutique hotel projects completed by our specialists in the past three years.
